St Jacut Les Pins will be holding a Medieval Weekend during 20 / 21 June which will also incorporate a Music Festival. You can view the advance publicity for the event Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3 | Page 4
The weekend is directed at the restoration of a rather unique windmill which is known locally as the Champagne Windmill. It dates back to the 1600s and was one of 24 mills in the village of which a water mill has been retored to full working order and a windmill which has received a cosmetic restoration. When I first came to the village the Champagne Windmill was in a poor state, over grown with brambles and a tree growing out of the top. With the support of Fondation du Patrimoine it is to be fully retored.
